Student Class Placement Letters

Placement Letters will be mailed home the week of August 25. Over the summer, Mackenzie shared a delightful poem she wrote in her Writer’s Notebook about waiting for her placement letter when she was going into third grade. To see it, please click here.

Principal's Message: Welcome to the Miller avenue website

Each year is a wonderful adventure, filled with rich learning experiences for our students. There is so much to highlight, from hatching baby ducks to traveling back in time to Ellis Island for our Immigration unit to exploring local ecology on Fire Island to visiting Independence Hall in Philadelphia, our youngsters grow so much. All the while, they write in their Writer’s Notebooks and Writer’s Folders learning how to articulate and expand their thoughts, ideas, and insights with the world.

I appreciate all the time, effort and sharing the teachers, parents, community and students have given to make Miller Avenue such a warm place to learn. A special thank you to our PTO for their generosity throughout the year in the many ways they volunteer their time and talents for our students.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the teaching and learning at Miller Avenue School. I wish you and your family a year filled with new experiences, family, friends, and discoveries.

For those stopping by for a virtual visit of our school, if you have any questions or wish to have an in-person tour arranged, feel free to contact me at your convenience so you may see firsthand some of the exemplary work our students engage in each day.

Sincerely,
Louis P. Parrinello
Principal
