Pennies For Patients Briarcliff students donated their change to "Pennies for Patients" which benefits those suffering from a blood disorder. Students collected $115.52! All money has been donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Thank you to all our “bucket fillers” for making a difference. Character Education - Honesty Briarcliff teachers acted out a skit depicting honesty to promote Character Education. Fireside Readin Students and family members joined faculty and staff and shared books and cocoa in our gym, which was transformed into a winter wonderland (many thanks to Mrs. Gilroy and her hard-working elves)! In addition the December book of the month, Rose’s Garden, by Peter H. Reynolds was read aloud by Mrs. Nugent. Students performed holiday songs, directed by Mrs. Paula Albert-Franz and Mrs. Jenilyn Smith. All students participated in a book exchange to promote literacy. Giving Thanks Faculty, staff & students at Briarcliff lined the main hallway dressed in Native American headdresses, pilgrim hats and friendship necklaces to enjoy a school-wide Thanksgiving feast. Our feast reminded everyone at Briarcliff that we have so much to be thankful for. Everyone joined in a sign-a-long of some of our favorite Thanksgiving songs. Halloween Fun Students, faculty and staff had a howlin’ good time on Halloween! Parents and family members joined us as Briarcliff children marched in a costume parade and sang songs together. Our students worked in classroom centers & explored Halloween games in P.E. class all week. It was a “Happy Halloween!”
The Singing Bus Driver Joe Guida, the Singing Bus Driver, led kindergarten and first grade students in songs and dance. His upbeat music reinforced bus safety.
