Shoreham-Wading River High School senior Matthew Anderson was recognized as a first-place winner in the SkillsUSA regional competition, recently held at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood. From there, he moved on to the state competition.

Matthew took the first-place regional title in the Auto Service Basic competition. At the state level, he placed second in Auto Vehicle Maintenance Basic competition.

In addition to his technical expertise, He was commended for his cooperative spirit and camaraderie in both competitions.
