For her outstanding and dedicated service to the students of Shoreham-Wading River High School and veterans of foreign wars, Shoreham-Wading River High School social studies teacher Ruth Squillace was recognized as the Teacher of the Year by VFW Post 6249. “It was an incredible honor,” Mrs. Squillace said, of her recognition on the eve of the 75th anniversary of D-Day. “I have loved serving the veteran community these past 20 years, and I look forward to doing more for them as I continue my work.”
