Two students from Miller Avenue School have been making the rounds accepting congratulations for being named Brookhaven National Laboratory Science Fair winners. Kindergarten student Connor Nugent and second grader Zachary Lister who won in the kindergarten grade level and the second grade level competitions for their respective projects, were honored by the Board of Education as well as by Legislator Sarah Anker. At the BOE meeting, they both described their projects, Connor’s about the strength of spaghetti and Zachary’s about the slippiest socks. Both young scientists were presented with plaques from the board members that will be hung in the school and a Proclamation with the Suffolk County seal from Leg. Anker.
