Students and staff throughout the Shoreham-Wading River School District recognized the events of 9/11 with gestures of kindness and moments of silence to pay tribute to those who perished and those who were forever affected by the events of that tragic day on history.

Wading River School carried on the tradition of inviting classes in the hallways throughout the building where together they recited the pledge together at 9:03 a.m. to honor the moment a plane flew into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

Principal Lou Parrinello and teachers encouraged conversations about what can be accomplished by working together with kindness, compassion and respect –the district’s Wildcats with Character Word of the Month – as they work to build a better tomorrow by their positive efforts today.
