Two Albert G. Prodell Middle School students have earned entrance into The Institute of Creative Problem Solving for Gifted and Talented Students at SUNY Old Westbury.

Eighth graders Alicia Minty and Julianna O’Neill will attend the program, which will run through the 2021-2022 school year, on Saturdays. The mission of the institute is to enhance the problem-solving skills of exceptionally talented students using advanced mathematics and creative thinking.

“Entrance this year was particularly impressive as there were not only COVID-related obstacles, but the exam took a much more proof-based turn,” Prodell math teacher Robert Mancuso said. “I am incredibly proud of both girls, and they are well on their way to a very successful future.”
