Shoreham-Wading River High School sophomore Kayla Bodenburg was honored
with a Quill Award in the Adelphi University Virtual Press Day
competition. Her honor was in the award category of Best Opinion Piece
for her article, “Competitive Dance Is Taking Center Stage,” published
in the high school’s digital newspaper, The Pause.
“We are all so proud of her,” English teacher and journalism club
adviser Sara Trenn said. “It is a reflection of her hard work and
writing skills. It also helps that she took a subject about which she’s
passionate and ran with it.”
