Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

Thank you for your continued communication and cooperation in regards to implementing the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) COVID-19 protocols for children to attend school. Although we have had a few positive cases in the District that have caused us to shift to distance learning at times, together we have largely been successful in having all of our students attend school daily. Please find a link below to the NYSDOH Pre-K-12 COVID-19 Toolkit which includes the most recent protocols issued from the NYSDOH. Please review page A-1 and A-2 which clarifies the NYSDOH requirements for when a child can attend school and when they can return to school after displaying COVID-19 symptoms. The SWRCSD adheres to this guidance from NYSDOH. NYSDOH: Pre-K-12 COVID-19 Toolkit https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2020/10/prek-gr12_toolkit.pdf Please continue to advise your building nurse if your child is displaying COVID-19 symptons or is being tested for COVID-19. As always, please reach out to my office should you have additional questions.

Sincerely,

Gerard W. Poole

SWRCSD Superintendent of Schools

As we approach the holiday season, many families may be considering traveling. You may already be aware that NYS has recently changed its COVID-19 travel guidance as it relates to quarantines and testing. Traveling may impact a student's ability to attend school upon return. Please find the link below from NYS which describes the new requirements. The SWRCSD adheres to these protocols for school attendance.
