The Albert G. Prodell Middle School National History Club welcomed Mr.
Neil Baggett from the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe on Jan. 23.
Prodell Middle School seventh-grader Carly Mulroy interviewed Mr.
Baggett for her research on Nikola Tesla for her National History Day
project.
Mr. Baggett serves on the Board of Directors of the Shoreham-based
organization that serves as a regional science, education and technology
center at the site of Tesla’s last existing laboratory.
Carly and students Allie Kall and Alex Zhang (seventh-grade) and
eighth-graders Natalie Casey, Melanie Hagen, Anja Minty and Aaron
Russell will take part in the 2019 National History Day competition at
Hofstra University on Sunday, March 31. This year’s theme is Triumph and
Tragedy.
“As the students learned of the legacy that Tesla left, they are also
learning that the hard work that they are putting into their research
projects will culminate in participating in this distinguished
competition,” club adviser and social studies teacher Danielle Senneca
said. “I am proud of their efforts and enthusiasm for the project.”
