The Shoreham-Wading River Central School District looks forward each
year to partnering with local community members to help make history
come to life for students. Living History Day is a way to help students
hear firsthand accounts of what life has been like over the decades and
have participating community members share their stories within the
classrooms.
Albert G. Prodell Middle School would like to invite members of the
community to participate as guest speakers for the annual Living History
Day celebration scheduled for Wednesday, May 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 12
p.m. Anyone who has an interesting story, life or career experience he
or she would like to share with students, please contact Shoreham-Wading
River School District Director of Humanities Nicole Waldbauer at
nwaldbauer@swr.k12.ny.us or 631-821-8200. Approximately 20 volunteers will be needed for this event.
Please send Mrs. Waldbauer your name, contact information and a brief
description of what you would like to share with the students. If
selected, participants will be asked to attend a 30-minute rehearsal
prior to the event. All participants must show a photo ID upon entry to
the middle school. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to guests.
