Seniors Christian Wesselborg and Calvin Schmalzle were formally introduced to the Board of Education and community as valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the Class of 2018. High School Principal Frank Pugliese recited the impressive academic, athletic, musical and community accomplishments of both students and congratulated them on their college studies – Christian at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to major in biology and Calvin at Clarkson University to study engineering.

Mr. Pugliese then alphabetically listed the students in the top 10 percent of the Class of 2018, noting that often a difference of a few hundredths of a point is what defines the top students, and he wanted to be certain they were all publicly recognized. The Shoreham-Wading River School District is pleased to announce the top 10 percent of the Class of 2018:
