Shoreham-Wading River Central School District students, faculty,
parents, administrators and partners from more than 25 community
organizations met in early October to plan outcomes for the academic
year’s School-to-Community Program.
“We believe that every student should have the opportunity to realize
the real-world application of the curricula provided as a part of the
instructional program at SWR,” said Dr. Amy Meyer, the District’s
Director of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The School-to-Community Leadership Team will work to incorporate ideas
from the inaugural meeting into the events and programs planned for the
future. In the development stages are the 3rd Annual STEM Symposium in
the spring of 2018 and a Long Island Growth Industries Career Fair (date
to be determined.)
