Shoreham-Wading River High School Senior Calvin Schmalzle Named Commended Student

Shoreham-Wading River High School senior Calvin Schmalzle has been named a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Calvin was entered into the National Merit Program by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which serves as an initial screen of the approximate 1.6 million entrants each year. Commended Students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the test.

“We are proud of Calvin’s accomplishment as a Commended Student,” said Shoreham-Wading River High School Principal Frank Pugliese. “This is an exceptional achievement.”
