Shoreham-Wading River HS principal named

At its meeting on June 20, the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District Board of Education officially appointed Frank Pugliese as the high school’s new principal, effective Aug. 1.

Mr. Pugliese joins the district with an extensive background in education. For the past six years, he has served as the assistant principal at Half Hollow Hills High School East and previously served four years in the same capacity at Half Hollow Hills High School West. He was also employed as an administrative dean at Ward Melville High School in the Three Village Central School District and taught social studies at Commack High School and Goochland High School in Virginia.

Mr. Pugliese holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the State University of New York at Albany, a Master in Science degree in curriculum and instruction from Radford University and a school district administrator certification from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

“I would like to thank the board of education and the entire central office team, especially incoming Superintendent Mr. Poole and interim Superintendent Mr. Lederer for entrusting me with this enormous responsibility,” said Mr. Pugliese of his appointment. “I am incredibly excited to begin working with the Shoreham-Wading River community to provide our students with the best educational experience.”
