During its April 18 meeting, the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District Board of Education appointed Shoreham-Wading River High School Assistant Principal Kevin Vann as principal of Prodell Middle School. Mr. Vann will replace Dr. Linda Anthony, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

“Mr. Vann is well-deserving of this appointment,” said Board of Education President John Zukowski. “He has earned the loyalty and respect from fellow administrators and students.”

Mr. Vann has served as the high school assistant principal for the past 10 years. Prior to that,  he worked in the Patchogue-Medford School District as a middle school social studies teacher and dean of students at the high school. He holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College in education and a master’s degree from Touro College in educational leadership.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve in the Shoreham-Wading River community in my new role of principal at the Albert G. Prodell Middle School,” said Mr. Vann.  “I am very excited to be working with such a dedicated and engaged faculty and staff and building upon the positive, supportive learning environment and culture that Dr. Anthony and Mr. Daniel Ackerman and the staff have worked so hard to foster at the middle school.”

Mr. Vann will officially take the helm of the middle school after Dr. Anthony’s retirement in June.
