The Shoreham-Wading River School District invites the parents and community members to attend a Crisis Center Workshop, titled Helping Kids Cope with Difficult Times, on Wednesday, April 19 from 7-8 p.m. in the Shoreham-Wading River High School auditorium.

The workshop, led by Meryl Cassidy and Lisa Heim-Zeller from Response Crisis Center, will focus on how to collaborate with children and teens to develop safety plans that reduce the danger of high-risk behaviors. The workshop will also include a discussion on promoting healthy coping strategies to stay safe, promote resilience and increase self-confidence.

The program is just one of a number that the district is offering to students in their families to heighten awareness.
