The holiday season has been made brighter for 33 local families through the efforts of the Shoreham-Wading River School District’s annual Holiday Project and high school Participation in Government students.
Throughout the month of December, the PIG students raised over $500 through a volleyball tournament and snowflake and snowmen sales to purchase gifts and food for the families in need. Also, assisting in the effort were middle school students and local churches and organizations.
All of the food baskets and gifts were delivered to the families by Shoreham-Wading River High School social worker Jaclyn Anci, who runs the Holiday Project.
