The Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s national high school newspaper critique awarded a prestigious silver medal to the staff of the high school’s student newspaper, The Wildcat Pause. The ranking, along with an 11-page critique of the 2015-16 newspapers, was announced in early October.

The Wildcat Pause was commended for last school year’s coverage of the school community, emphasis on school news, and quality of visuals in both photography and illustration.

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association, a department of Columbia University, was established in 1925 to help improve student publications. The papers are judged by advisers of highly rated high school publications from across the country.
