As part of their studies on U.S. government and history, eighth-graders participated in a two-day tour of Washington, D.C., on May 5 and 6.
The students toured the Capitol Building and other historical landmarks, such as the Lincoln and Vietnam Veterans memorials. They also visited Arlington National Cemetery, where they witnessed the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In addition, they viewed exhibits at the National Air and Space Museum and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
