Shoreham-Wading River High School students and DECA team members Robert Torres and Melissa Manzello showcased their business skills on the national level this spring when they took part in DECA’s International Career Development Conference, held in Nashville, Tennessee, from April 23-26.

Both students earned the chance to advance to the national round based on their performances at the state level. During the national competition, they competed against top DECA scholars in a variety of events. Robert earned a medal for placing in the top 10 in the Business Role Play event in the category of Business Finance.

“This is a fantastic accomplishment, especially considering that over 11,000 students participated in the competition,” said DECA advisor Melissa Cosgrove.
