High school students enrolled in the Principal’s Academy celebrated Earth Day by participating in a beach cleanup on April 19 sponsored by the Group for the East End.
As part of the event, four students collected four bags of trash at Wildwood State Park, which will be used by the Group for the East End to create “recycled wildlife art.” The initiative is part of a regional awareness campaign on the harmful impacts of coastal marine debris on many species of marine wildlife.
The Principal’s Academy is a model of education that allows students to pursue jobs during the day that are aligned with their future goals while simultaneously gaining an education that will lead to a high school diploma.
