To celebrate Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’ birthday, kindergartners in Joan Jacobs’ class embarked upon on a mission to read 500 books by the end of March.
To date, the Miller Avenue students have read more than 300 books with the help of some special readers, including Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steven Cohen and Principal Christine Carlson, as well as building secretaries and custodians.
To keep track of their total, the students created a display outside their classroom door that features the titles of the books they have read so far.
