The fifth-grade students at Wading River Elementary School took to the stage for several outstanding performances of “Oliver Twist” during the week of Jan. 25 at the high school.

The students, dressed in costume, awed audiences of peers, friends and parents with musical numbers, acting and dancing. Directed by Mark Verity, the students worked diligently over the past several weeks to perfect the production.

“Our fifth-graders worked very hard memorizing lines, practicing songs and learning the nuances of being on the stage,” said Principal Louis Parrinello. “A special thanks to all the students, faculty, staff and parent volunteers who lent an extra hand.”
