For the second consecutive year, the Wildcats varsity football team won the Class IV Long Island Championship, defeating Locust Valley at Hofstra University on Nov. 27 with a final score of 35-7.

The victory capped off a perfect season for Shoreham-Wading River, during which the team won 24 straight games — the longest active streak in Long Island football history.

“I am very proud of the football team for their perseverance and accomplishments over the last two years,” said Mark Passamonte, director of physical education, health and athletics. “They are a great group of kids who share a very special bond.”
