Food Train Chugs into Wading River

As part of Wading River School’s character education program, students participated in the annual Food Train Food Drive to support those in need.

Throughout the month of November, each student decorated a shoebox, filled it with nonperishable goods and added it to the back of a cardboard locomotive. The long line of donations stretched alongside one of the building’s hallways named “Responsibility Way.”

Just prior to Thanksgiving, the boxes were delivered to local food pantries, including those at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church, St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and St. Anselm’s Episcopal Church.
