Glowing Green to Support Veterans

To honor veterans throughout the month of November, members of the middle school student council kicked off the “Greenlight a Vet” campaign.

The campaign asks fellow students and community members to change one light bulb in their home to green and keep it glowing as a symbol of support for veterans.

“America’s veterans are some of our nation’s bravest, hardest-working men and women,” said student council advisor Andrea Monz. “However, it’s hard to show them the appreciation they deserve when, back home and out of uniform, they’re more camouflaged than ever. ‘Greenlight a Vet’ is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.”

As part of the awareness campaign, the students handed out flyers and urged fellow students and staff members to participate.
