The Eighth Grade Goes to Washington

As part of their studies on U.S. government and history, 176 eighth-graders participated in a two-day tour of Washington, D.C.

The students toured the Capitol Building and other historical landmarks, such as the Lincoln and Vietnam memorials. They also visited Arlington National Cemetery, where they witnessed the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In addition, they explored exhibits at the National Museum of American History and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
