High school sophomore Jack Higgins is one of only 350 students in the world selected to attend the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco from June 8-12.
Jack earned the chance to attend the conference after creating an app about himself and submitting it. During the conference, he will have the opportunity to explore more than 100 technical sessions, meet with engineers, and take part in hands-on labs.
For Jack, creating apps is second nature. Currently, he has two apps available for sale in the Apple App Store one of which is an alarm clock that charges the user’s credit card when they don’t wake up on time. Jack collects 50 percent of the profit, with the other half going toward medical research.
Jack became interested in computers at the age of 10. In addition to creating apps, he has also built a computer in his middle school locker.
