Following years of researching megafauna and their affects on the environment, a portion of high school senior James Lee’s work was published in the online publication “The Wildernist” on April 30.

James’s work appears in an article he wrote about Tapiers of Central and South America and explores the animal’s history.

“I really am very proud of him,” said science research teacher Sherry Neff. “To have his work published is amazing.”

In addition to his science research, James is a member of the school’s a cappella group and student government. Outside of school, he is an Eagle Scout and a lifeguard.

James plans to attend SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in the fall and major in conservation biology.
