Seventh-graders acted out the Second Congressional Congress before friends and family at an assembly on Dec. 16.

During the simulation, students, dressed in Colonial garb, presented arguments and speeches from the Radical and Tories side, asking their peers to vote for independence or loyalty. This year, all 13 “colonies” voted for independence.

Aside from speeches, students also performed period musical pieces.

The simulation, organized by teachers Corinne Moschetti and Danielle Senneca, is a 40-year tradition at the middle school.
