Community members are invited to attend the Living Lincoln Symposium on Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., in the Shoreham-Wading River High School Auditorium.
Sponsored by the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Foundation, the symposium will examine the life of America’s 16th president through a variety of lenses, as well as examine him as a contemporary and relevant subject.
The event will feature four speakers, including: Wendy Allen, an artist, presenting, “Searching for the Exact Location of America’s Soul: Yesterday, Today and Forever”; Joseph Fornieri, professor of political science at the Rochester Institute of Technology, presenting, “The Enduring Statesmanship of Abraham Lincoln”; Hon. Frank William, former chief justice of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island, presenting, “Abraham Lincoln and Civil Liberties: Then and Now”; and Howard Wright, a member of the Association of Lincoln Presenters, presenting, “Liberty for All: Lincoln’s Vision for the Future.”
