Brendan Cushing, a junior at Shoreham-Wading River High School, recently had the opportunity to interview Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine on an episode of Cablevision’s “Meet the Leaders: Brookhaven Environmental Leadership Forum.”

During the forum, which aired on June 11, Cushing and students from other schools asked Romaine questions about various environmental topics.

Cushing, who plans to study renewable energy in college, asked Romaine about the town’s solar program, explaining, “I have been interested in solar power for a while now. I am big on recycling and recycle just about anything that can be recycled at home.” The high school selected Cushing because of his known interest in environmental conservation.

Cushing also recently entered Cablevision’s ‘Let’s Rethink Recycling’ Video Contest. The winner has not yet been announced.
