Making History Their Own

Seventh-grade students at Prodell Middle School had the opportunity to learn about the U.S. Constitution in their own, unique way. Social studies teachers Corinne Moschetti and Danielle Senneca encouraged students to select a style of learning that they felt was the most effective for them.

“I liked that we were given the option to explore the topic in a way that was most interesting to us,” said one student. “Not only did this project make learning about the Constitution exciting, it allowed us to show others what we are capable of creating.”

Students presented to classmates original mobiles, song lyrics and even flip books, detailing the important historical document. Some students sent letters to local government representatives, such as Senator Charles Schumer, and shared the responses they received
