On Feb. 7, Shoreham-Wading River High School senior Ryan Udvadia joined coaches Bob Szymanski and Brian Wrinkle, Assistant Principal Kevin Vann and family to sign his National Letter of Intent. Ryan will be joining the cross-country team at High Point University, his first school of choice, and majoring in accounting.
"I am really excited to be attending High Point,” said Ryan. “It came as a big surprise to me. I fell in love with the school and its educational program, as well as the coach and the team.”
Ryan has participated in spring and winter track (distance running) and cross-country (8K) for the district beginning in his freshmen and sophomore years, respectively. He has been awarded All-League, All-Division, All-County and All-State First Team for both sports. In Nov. 2013, Ryan was awarded second place at the Cross-Country All-States. Additionally, he was named to the All-State, All-State Federation and All-Northeast regional teams for cross-country.
“I am really looking forward to next year but will miss my coaches and running for Shoreham-Wading River," said Ryan.
