World Down Syndrome Day

World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated each year on March 21st (Saturday). The 21st of March (the 3rd month of the year) was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.

Although there is no school and many are staying in, we at SWR SEPTA would like to support and spread awareness by having a contest!!!! We ask that you help celebrate uniqueness, diversity, inclusion and acceptance by wearing mismatched socks, or the colors blue and yellow. Get creative, have fun, parents and kids!!! Please post your pic to our FB, instagram or email taramgosman@yahoo.com. Be sure to include the hash tags: #swrsupportsworlddownsyndromeday #swrproud

We will choose 3 winners and feature them on our social media & website, and also mail out some SEPTA magnets to you! The pic that really stands out will also win a $25 gift card for ice cream!!!! One photo per family please. A fun and easy way to show our support as a district and community. We can’t wait to see all your pics on Saturday. Please stay safe & healthy 💛💙💛💙💛💙💛💙
